Cleaning schedule
Living room cleaning schedule
The living room stays tidy with ten minutes of tidying a day. Every week you vacuum, dust and water the plants. Every two weeks you mop, and every month you do the inside of the windows and the sofa. Cushion covers and throws go in the wash each season, curtains once a year.

Rhythm for a household of two. With more people the busiest tasks come round more often, living alone a little less. Minutes are a rough guide.
Ten minutes a day
Set a timer and go round once, always in the same direction. Anything that does not belong in the living room goes into a basket, and at the end you take the basket round. After ten minutes you stop, even if it is not perfect.
The weekly clean
- Basket roundThings from other rooms back where they belong.
- Dust from high to lowShelves, lamps, windowsills, table and TV unit.
- PlantsWater them and take off dead leaves.
- VacuumUnder the sofa and along the skirting boards too.
With children
A toy box per child and a five-minute tidy-up song works better than saying it has to be done.
How SortYourMind does it
Your home as rooms, each with its own rhythm
In SortYourMind every room in your home is a theme with its own chores. Routines get a rhythm and come back by themselves. The app finds time for them around your appointments, so the schedule does not just hang on the fridge but actually sits in your week.
- Rooms as themes, along a fixed route through your home: you see at once where something is open
- Routines on their rhythm: every week, every 4 days or on fixed weekdays
- SyMslots: blocks in your free time, around your Outlook or Google calendar
- When your day changes, the app replans from now and moves on what no longer fits
